10 reasons why you should hire a wedding stylist


I get it weddings are expensive right? So many choose to DIY their wedding. It may seem like the cheaper option but I have met so many couples who started this way and then ended up spending way more than they expected and it caused way more stress! So take a quick peek at this blog to find out why hiring a wedding stylist may be a smart idea...

1. You can buy experience!

Decor is what us venue stylists do, day in day out week after week. We work with couples to understand what they like and what they don't like, but what you like v's what will actually work is sometimes different and you need our advice. You may want super tall centrepieces but the room may have low ceilings, you may want to get married outside but it may rain! Venue stylists work in many venues and have lots of decorating experience. They will be honest with you about what will and won't work but will give you options to try best to incorporate what you want v's what will work. So take the venue with the low ceilings for example. It may be that a few tall centrepieces can be used along with lower centrepieces so it doesn't over power the room too much. Or have a mid range height centrepiece so you still get what you love but doesn't look out of place in the space. Take the rain example, stylists are used to this. I always suggest decor that will work in the outside space as well as inside and we are there to liaise with the venue meaning sometimes we literally set up last minute to ensure you get the best possible outcome.



2. What works in your chosen venue

Venue stylists work across many venues week after week. We know what will look good and what won't. If you are getting married with a beautiful view outside then decor I suggest will enhance the view, never block the view. Where as if there is a radiator or a picture at the front of the ceremony that needs covering I have the perfect idea. The carpet may have a heavy print and I suggest an aisle runner so the style you have chosen is not affected by this aesthetic. There maybe a beautiful fireplace that is crying out to be decorated to really draw upon those historic features. A very large venue will require more decor than a smaller one. There maybe an area that needs covering as its not very visually interesting and that's where our super large fairy light curtain and even light up letters come in. Some venues are heavily decorated and therefore not much is needed. Here at Pink Blossom Weddings we will always suggest the right decor for you and your venue.

3. Help you decide what you want

5. What you see is what you get

You have the comfort of knowing what you have seen and agreed is what you are going to get on your wedding day. When you choose to DIY you may not be able to set it up yourself if your venue has a wedding the day before so you may choose to let you venue do it (that's if they do it in the first place) but as much as they may be super helpful they are not experienced venue stylists and may not do the decor exactly how you imagined it. Not only will your ceremony design work cohesively with the reception decor, the little things will also be considered like adding matching florals to the aisle end chairs, relatively low cost but really elevates the look. Adding a few matching florals to your welcome sign makes a big impact. Adding napkin decor i.e. ribbons or flowers can really finish a table off. Ensuring stationery, cakes and bouquets match. We are happy to liaise with your stationer, cake maker and florist to ensure colours and flowers match for a really streamlined and cohesive look.


10 . Stay in bed and recover

I hope you have partied into the early hours and no doubt you were up early with hair and makeup so the last thing you want to do is get up and start clearing everything up, dismantling everything and packing up. Stay in bed, chill, have your breakfast with your nearest and dearest and savour the memories from the day before. Let someone else take care of the rest!
